1954 Corvette roadster famously known as “The Pizza Man.”
Wearing serial number 99 of 3,640, The Pizza Man ran at strips all across the Midwest and at national events from 1962 to 1971, piloted by owner/driver Earl Britt, owner of Earl’s Pizza Palace in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
This Beauty wore the original Polo White paint, fitted with a Black fiberglass hard top and the original Red interior was known as “World's Fastest Six Cylinder Corvette", setting a phenomenal 9 Records in NHRA Modified Production and winning more NHRA Championship Points in 3 consecutive years (1967-69) than any other car and driver in Street Eliminator history, at the 1967 Indy Nationals The Pizza Man delivered a huge upset win over legendary Dick Landy at the 1968 Winternationals at Pomona.
The Pizza Man’s success came from the highly modified 292 CI GMC inline-6 engine, triple sidedraft 2 barrel Weber’s driving a B&M kitted Turbo Hydra-Matic 3-speed transmission and 4.56 Posi rear end.
Earl pedaled The Pizza Man into the mid 12s, eventually running an official of 12.17 at 118 mph and an unofficial 11.97 in 1970.
The Big 6 racer is still here today in all of its original glory.
